On the 20th of November 2016, as planned, DIPKAR family traveled from Ho Chi Minh City to a pet rescue center in Binh Duong (dedicated to serving dogs and cats). Upon our arrival, we received a warm welcome from bow-wows and meows with their continuously wagging tails. We then divided into 2 groups, one going to the cat shelter and the other dog shelter. The bow-wows here were very friendly. They enjoyed being hugged and petted. Some were so cheerful that even climbed up onto our laps and stayed by our sides while others licked our cheeks to show their affection. One dog gnawed at his bowl and leaned on a member's legs. Amongst all, one dog seemed to be a little “too friendly” by trying to make a hole on a team member's jeans; perhaps he was too eager to make friend with her. In many different approaches, they all did their best to get our attention and love.

On the other hand, the meows seemed to be quieter. One cat quickly fell in love with our friend and jumped on his shoulder and head and would not want to let him go. All the cats were very sweet and playful. Time passed by so fast and it was very hard for us to say goodbye to our new friends. Mr. Leo, head of the shelters, sent his sincere thanks to DIPKAR members for visiting the shelters as well as bringing food and other necessities to them, they really meant a lot. He hoped to see the team again in the near future.

On the way back to Ho Chi Minh City, Dipkar members stopped by Hoi An Temple to worship the Jade Buddha. We took a moment to pray for the donors who helped us with fish releasing, animal rescuing and other charity activities held by Dipkar. We wished all sentient beings good health and inner peace.
